In a perfect world, women would have the freedom to spend as much time as needed with their newborn babies. And once they did decide to go back to work post-birth, they would be met with all the resources they needed as brand-new moms. But, unfortunately, the world is far from perfect and it isn't always easy to put both “dedicated employee” and “full-time mom” on a resume. 

According to a report published by the Paid Leave for the United States in 2017, one in four moms went back to work 10 days after childbirth. And since the only federal law guaranteeing maternity leave in the country is unpaid, many moms simply have to go back to work even when they (and their babies) aren't ready. 

Luckily, some amazing women across the country have taken this serious matter into their own hands by developing kid-friendly co-working spaces that give moms (and dads!) the opportunity to get back to work without having to fully say goodbye to their little ones. These cool co-working spots—from Washington, D.C. to California—offer office amenities (desk space, printers, conference rooms), plus childcare, nursing rooms and the opportunity to meet other new moms. Even better, they were all created by women.
